I like that they're kind of dumpy, like they should go jogging more often. And does the sun wear sunglasses to shade his eyes from himself?

Well the whole dumpy thing was an accident if I'm honest I was just aiming to make them look tired for now but thanks for pointing that out and as for the sun glasses those were a last minute add on and I only kept them because I was gonna do a mafia/hitman mickey take, but yeah thanks for the comment

I love the color and design of this, though his tail looks kind muddy and his belly could be sharper. Those things, I think, would push this over the hump.

looks great, I really like the treatment of the foam. (weird thing to focus on I guess.) I'm on the fence about the dark sky(?) over them. it's taking away from the image, maybe because that hue isn't integrated into any other part of the pic. But that's a nitpick. Over-all this looks great, I like what you've been doing.

The concept alone makes me weep. This is amazing! It helps also that this was implemented really well. Though the essentially empty space on the left is off putting, it deadens it in a way. I would have made this more foreshortened for extra punch as well.
